AI integration for structural health monitoring (SHM) connects at three key surfaces within IBM Maximo: the Asset and Location modules for structural hierarchy, the Work Order Tracking module for inspection and repair execution, and the Condition Monitoring or Asset Health modules for alerting. The primary workflow begins with ingesting sensor data—from strain gauges, accelerometers, or LiDAR—into a processing pipeline. AI models analyze this stream for anomalies, fatigue indicators, or deflection patterns, then create or update corresponding Maximo records. For example, a detected vibration anomaly in a bridge pier can automatically generate a Condition Monitoring Point alert, which then triggers a Service Request or a Preventive Maintenance Work Order for a detailed inspection.
